Steve Locker
Steve Locker became the 11th coach in Harvard men's soccer history in June, 1992. The 1998 was his seventh season with the Crimson. He has spent several sessions during the past couple of years studying and observing the training methods of AC Milan, the league champions in the highly regarded Italian Series A. Before coming to Harvard, Locker coached for three seasons at the University of Rochester, where he led his squads to a 34-14-4 record and three straight NCAA Division III tournaments, in addition to Top 10 rankings in each of those years. His 1991 team was ranked second in the country for most of the year and finished with a 14-2 mark. Prior to Rochester, he served as head coach at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, for six years, where he had a 52-44-5 record. He was an assistant coach at Penn State in 1982 and at Colgate University in 1981. Locker is a graduate of Penn State, where he earned a bachelor of science degree. He also holds an M.Ed. in Counselor Education from Penn State. Following graduation, he played for Hannover 96, a German professional team, and earned a professional coaching license from the DFB (German Soccer Federation).
