Game Report
What can you say about this result? It must have
been a heartbreaker to play what amounts to a no-win situation for Harvard (non-Ivy and
away against a below-average team with just one win). It probably wouldn't have made
any difference at all if Harvard beat them, unless they did it big and got their scoring
confidence up. None of that happened today.
What I know at this time is that Central Conn got its
second win of the season by chipping a ball over Jordan Dupuis from outside the 18 in the
101st minute. Harvard had a couple of shots that went off the post early in the
game, but I don't know how balanced the game was overall. I have witnessed and
played games like that, and all I can say is "That's soccer."
The boys need to simply put this one behind them and get
fired up for this weekend. They are going up against two of the best teams in the
country (Stanford has the longest winning streak in the nation), and it is no time to
spend time thinking about losing this game.
Two years ago Harvard went to CC and lost 3-0. I
have no idea why they are on the schedule. If it's because it is an easy game, it's
probably a good time to reconsider the strategy.

Team records:
Harvard: 2-2-2, 1-1-1 Ivy
Central Connecticut: 2-7-0
