Game Report
Your faithful reporter was unable to attend the game in New Haven, but from what I
hear, this game was a corker, attended by a big crowd on a beautiful night.
The balance of the game went like this: the first 25 minutes or so were Harvard's.
They passed the ball well, and controlled it. The rest of the game, though,
Yale pressured Harvard and keeper Jordan Dupuis throughout. While Yale tied it up
with about 10 minutes to go, it appeared Harvard was staving off the inevitable.
Still, Harvard had some real chances in regulation and the overtime to win the
game, but couldn't finish.
Tom McLaughlin continued his scoring pace established in the Providence game on a
direct kick in the first minute. The Yale goalie didn't even move for the ball, as
it was placed perfectly. I had heard that although re-starts weren't working that
well in the games, that Tommy was nailing them in practice. It was only a matter of
time before he got one that counted. Harvard struck again about ten minutes later
when Ryan Keeton (back in the lineup, was sick earlier in the week) fed Ricky Le for 2-0
lead. Yale's goals came in the 19th and 79th minutes, the latter by sophomore Jac Gould,
who has been pretty hot of late. Jordan was big in goal, making 10 saves for the
game, several of them getting 9.8 or higher from the judges.
