Maura McCarthy enters her fifth year as a trainer at Harvard. She works closely with the men's soccer, women's basketball, and women's lacrosse teams. During the summer of 1994, she was a member of the athletic training staffs of both the World Cup Soccer and the Boston Celtics Rookie / Free Agent Training Camp. Before coming to Harvard, McCarthy was the Head Athletic Trainer at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. She received her bachelor's degree from Salem State College in 1987, where she was a student trainer with the soccer, ice hockey, baseball, and softball squads. McCarthy then worked as a graduate assistant trainer at Penn State from 1987 to 1989 while earning a master's degree. From 1989 to 1991 she was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Colgate, with responsibilities in women's sport and men's basketball. McCarthy enjoys ice skating, cycling, and traveling. She currently resides in Newton, Massachusetts. |
